Here we go to the Perot

We recently checked out the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science.  In a word, it's amazing.  From the building to the exhibits and everything in between, it's world-class.  We figured at a minimum Scarlett and Max would be interested in the dinosaurs (which for the most part were found locally, or at least regionally), but there was actually quite a bit that interested them, so we'll be back for sure.

The outside of the museum (that crazy protrusion on the side of the building is an escalator).

Checking out a giant frog before heading inside.

Max takes in the scene in the Children's section, which includes a child-sized farmer's market, a simulated forest, and a climbable replica of the Dallas skyline among other things.

Now, off to the exhibit halls.  Dinosaurs!

And flying dinosaur turtles?  Who knew?  (Yeah, I get that he/she is swimming, but try explaining that to a headstrong three year old who sees the turtle with her own eyes and that turtle is FLYING.)

Max inspects a swirling light display that's supposed to be something, but I forget.  The ocean tides, maybe?  Let's just go with that.

Max saw this and yelled out "Nah Nah!", which is what he calls Winnie and other Winnie-like creatures.  We've thought long and hard about why he calls her this, and all we can come up with is that sometimes Scarlett calls her Winnie Banana, and maybe he latched on to the banana bit.  In any event, don't tell Winnie about the comparison.  I can't remember what in the heck this thing is, but Winnie would not be pleased, I'm sure.

Head to the museum when you get a chance -- you won't be disappointed!
