Two Months Old! (January 17, 2012)

Mr. Max is two months old! He had a checkup with Dr. Curry yesterday and our little guy isn't quite so little anymore. He's 13 pounds 8 ounces (90th percentile), 24 1/2 inches long (95th percentile), and I can't recall his head circumference but it's at the 90th percentile. It's amazing to me that he's grown 4 inches in two months!

Max started smiling a few weeks ago, and it's so sweet to see. He also coos now, and he makes a really loud chirping sound every once in awhile when he wants to get your attention. He's settling into a sleep pattern so thankfully we are developing more of a routine. He loves to look around and take everything in. Ceiling fans, his sheep mobile, and Scarlett seem to be his favorite things to watch.

And speaking of Scarlett, she continues to be great with him -- still no signs of jealousy or aggression whatsoever. When Max cries, she asks, "Why's baby brother crying?" If I ask her why he's crying, she says, "He wants you, Momma" or "Baby Brother's hungry" or "Baby Brother has a poo poo." The funny thing is, she's got Max completely figured out; these are, in fact, the main three reasons why he cries! She likes to give him things (blankets, stuffed animals, tea cups so "Baby Brother can drink tea"), so I'm hopeful she'll continue to be good about sharing with him. At least until he's bigger and the "sharing" is no longer Scarlett's idea but is initiated by Max (and is less like sharing and more like nabbing).
